In partnership with Diabetes UK (Wales) The PPG organise a Peer Support Group for people with Diabetes on the Third Wednesday of every month at the Medical Centre on Excalibur Drive. It starts promptly at 7pm and runs until around 8.30pm, usually includes a guest speaker. This is an opportunity for those with Type 2 Diabetes (although anyone with Diabetes (or who cares for a Diabetic person) is welcome) to come and chat, compare life experiences also catch up on tips and tricks to help manage Diabetes in day to day life.
Meetings are prepared around topics which attendees are interested in discussing, although not clinically led, are an easy way to understand all the terms and phraseology associated with this condition; myths and misconceptions, and most importantly, the truth about better management of the condition.
The meetings are attended by the Practice’s resident Diabetes Nurse who can also advise on how to get the best out of the services that North Medical Centre Offer.
