More and more we are hearing that Patients should take opportunities to better look after themselves; and a lot of the messages centre around diet and exercise. Certainly the Pandemic situation, and various Lockdown restrictions and limitations have made people think very hard about how to start, maintain, or improve how they exercise, and there is also huge choice of healthy eating and cooking programs on TV and on the Internet.
If you find any sites or recipes that you think are particularly good; why not share them with others, by phone, email, or via the ‘talking health’ chat room under the ‘resources’ tab on this site.
In 2020 we reported that the PPG were hoping to organise a walking group; and this is still very much our aim, but obviously things have been put on hold for a while, and this will likely be a summer project for 2021.
We are hoping to start small and organised walks in and around Cefn Onn Park and the area surrounding North Cardiff Medical Centre this summer.
Our intent is that walks will be open to all, and we will try and cater for all levels of ability.
For those with medical conditions, you’ll have to accept that we aren’t responsible for your safety, and, although we will obviously do our best to look after you, the walk is set up as a meeting of a group of friends and no more. This said we want the walks to be fun and not to have people over exerting themselves, so if you have concerns, speak to your GP Practice Nurse, and get some advice.
