Richard Cole [Chair]

Richard has been a patient at the practice for over 20 years.  A late 50s former Town Planner specialising in Historic Building restoration.  Interests include his Dogs, Music and Films of the 1980s, Art, Science, and a general interest in how things work.  Richard Joined the PPG  in 2006 with an interest in Type 1 Diabetes which he has had since childhood. Richard has Chaired the group since 2008 and is always encouraging of new members and different patient perspectives regarding how medical centre services might be improved.

Lynda Williams [Deputy Chair]

Lynda Williams has been a patient of North Cardiff Medical Centre (NCMC) since the 1970’s. She has worked in Retail Management and then as a Training Officer for Tesco. Since giving up work she has explored various interests including computer courses Spanish, Interior Design and Hairdressing.
Lynda was born with a spinal condition called Scoliosis (curvature of the spine) and has had 5 surgeries since the age of 10 to correct it. This has led to having many experiences with Scoliosis including major surgeries pain management and counselling. As a result, Lynda along with the spinal consultants in South Wales set up a Welsh Charity called SWS Cymru – Support With Scoliosis, to help those affected by the condition in Wales. Lynda is also Regional representative for the National Scoliosis Association UK. Lynda is married and has two children one of whom also has scoliosis.
It is because of the help and support received from NCMC that led Lynda to want to become part of the PPG. Particularly after attending the Health Forum on Thyroid where she learnt more and discovered  what services are available to help people who may be affected by Thyroid problems.
Lynda’s interests are: Scoliosis Pain Management, Pilates Wellbeing and Gardening.

Viv Riley (Treasurer)

Describes herself as: A retired Cardiff County Council IT Training Officer.

I am married to a retired BT Engineering Manager and have two married daughters with four super grandchildren.

I was a member of the local school PTA, schools Orchestra Parents Association, Youth Orchestra Parents Association and chair of Youth String Orchestra Parents Association.

Dr Jon Campbell [Managing Partner]

Dr Campbell is a part time Partner at the practice with specialist interest in Pain Management, Diabetes and GP Training .

Alyson Jones [Practice Manager]

Alyson has a background management and joined the Practice  in 2022 and applauds the enthusiasm, hard work and commitment of the PPG members and their past achievements which she hopes will be rejuvenated following the pandemic.

Doris Dallimore

Describes herself as: Retired some years ago from my role as manager of Bridgend Carers Centre, a voluntary organisation which I established in the late 1990’s. My key health interests are related to carers’ support, bereavement and care of the terminally ill and their families. I have always enjoyed working with people, initially as recruitment officer in Wales Gas, then in various posts including clinic co-ordinator, community care user/carer consultation and planning officer, and implementation officer for Direct Payments. Most of my spare time is taken up being Brown Owl and chairman of the Cardiff Scout and Guide Gang Show. I am also a helper on my husband’s allotment and often spend time trying out new recipes to use the produce.

Ian Thomas

Ian has been a patient at the practice for many years. A Tour Guide who specialising in delivering customer experiences on coach and rail tours. Passionate about travel, Andre Rieu music, and much more.

After receiving practice support to help deal with a life changing illness in 2004, Ian became a PPG member. As a Voluntary Patient Advocate,  Ian guided delivery of a Patient Health Forum on Thyroid Disorders in 2018. Has interest in provision of healthcare services for patients with Thyroid Disorders, Heart Disease, and Diabetes.

Following with interest, proposed development of new Health and Wellbeing Centres planned for Cardiff by the Cardiff University Health Board and Welsh Government.  Member of the British Thyroid Foundation and British Heart Foundation Patient Advocacy Group.
