Find a new pharmacy

420

Hi,  If you haven’t heard already, Lloyds Pharmacy in Sainsburys Thornhill is closing at the end of May 2023.

So where are you going to go to get your meds and pharmacy services ?

Staff at the medical centre aren’t allowed  to recommend a pharmacy. So please don’t ring or ask them directly, as they cannot make recommendations.  They are not being unhelpful…they are just not allowed  to by law…     but the Patient Participation Group can advise as follows.

You can search for local pharmacies by postcode by pressing thectrl’    button and left clicking   here

or pasting the following in your browser

https://111.Wales.nhs.uk/localservices/?s=Pharmacy&pc=n&sort=default

The good news is that you can take any prescription to any pharmacy you choose, but if you have regular repeat prescriptions or use particular pharmacy services, It’s probably wise to register with a local pharmacy for repeat business , treatments or services.

One important thing to consider is that different pharmacies offer different services .  Some are part of National Chains, others are small private businesses, and this will impact on the medicines they can easily access and on the services they offer and at what cost.   They can also vary in terms of turn around speed in filling your script.

Think what you need, do you need meds delivered or would you prefer to pick them up? Will the pharmacy charge for delivery? Do you need a particular service like contraceptive services, or do you want a pharmacy which offers minor illness consultations and treatments, or which will administer treatments like injections?   If you collect your medication or need to attend a pharmacy for treatments it might make sense to choose a pharmacy that’s close to where you live, where you do your shopping, or close to your place of work. Ultimately you want it to be convenient, and to offer the service you need.

There are 13 Pharmacies in the immediate area that we know of…  They are listed below…, They are not in any particular order.            Give them a ring or visit their website to see if they can meet your requirements and how best to register with them.

Hover over the blue text    left click whilst pressing      ctrl     to see what services they offer.
